Artist’s
use many ways to unify their artwork. One
way they unify their work is through colors and shapes. Different colors and
shapes create diversity and variety. Different patterns create structure throughout
all artwork. Color repetition is another way that artist unify their work.
Asymmetrical balance in any artwork means that it is equal on both sides. So
both sides of the artwork match up with each other if the artwork was folded in
half. When something in a piece of artwork is bigger than everything else in
the piece than usually that means that the artist was trying to emphasize that
one part of the artwork. Usually when something is emphasizing in an artwork,
it draws more attention to that one particular part of the art piece. Or when
the artist wants the main focus to be on one particular thing they will usually
put it in the center of the artwork. For example the artwork “The Scream” that was done in 1893 the man is
in the center of the painting and that is the main focus point.
